DION & THE BELMONTS  Radio City Music Hall   *1987  NYC    2         Great RARE Dion show and awesome setlist. Lots of inbetween song banter talking about how he grew up on a particular Bronx NY street corner as well as other intertersting stories. I'm not sure but this may have been originally broadcast on local NY oldies radio station WCBS-FM. The sound is a nice mix of audience and Dion. Some nice bonus tracks can also be heard here. Donovan Live in Tokyo 17-Mar-73 1973   2         A real find.  A really nice audience recording.  Some tape arifacts; none detract from the beauty of this recording. Lovingly recorded.  You can hear the taper adjusting the mic and breathing before the concert begins.  He is obviously sitting near the center of the speakers.  [notes not mine] You can hear Donovan’s fingers on the strings.Donovan was unplugged before MTV.  Just him and his guitar. Sound for an audience recording: A.  The audience is A; obviously in awe.  Of course, they are Japanese, politely clapping, but no eating, talking amongst themselves, or shouting demands for songs. I always thought that Donovan did the vibrato with some trick in the studio.  Not so.  Just listen to Hurdy Gurdy Man.[notes not mine~Benj] mr@exr.com
